Record turnout for Sixth Form open evening

Hundreds of parents and prospective students toured West Hatch High School and heard about its successes at the annual Sixth Form open evening.

Talks were given by headteacher Frances Howarth, assistant headteacher Victoria Schaefer, Head of Sixth Form Anjala Sharma, Head Boy Sharaf Shiekha and Head Girl Gemma Curtiss.

Visitors could tour the school, including the Sixth Form Centre, and see displays in various departments.

There were also performances of dance and drama in the Drama Centre.

Headteacher Frances Howarth said: "We were overwhelmed by the record numbers attending and the interest shown in our school.

"From the feedback collected parents were very impressed by our students' enthusiasm for their courses and their enjoyment of the whole Sixth Form experience.

"We look forward to welcoming our new entrants in the autumn.”
