The boys team at West Hatch High School has won the Year 7 West Essex and Harlow Basketball tournament.

They competed against 12 schools to reach the final where they beat St Marks, Harlow, in a thrilling game that went to overtime. 

West Hatch came out on top and were a credit to the school.

PE teacher and head coach Matthew Calver said: "Thanks to Casa Hoy for organising the competition and headteacher Dan Leonard for supporting the boys.

"The 7am starts on a Wednesday have paid and the boys should be congratulated on their efforts."
