Students cheer on England at Wembley

Twenty-five West Hatch High School students were at Wembley Stadium on Saturday to help welcome back the England football team after their World Cup success.

Pupils watched as England competed in their first competitive game of the newly-formed UEFA Nations League - a 2-1 defeat to Spain.

Before kick-off they saw Harry Kane receive the World Cup Golden Boot.

Despite the result, the entertaining game provided a great experience for both boys and girls from across several year groups.

PE teacher Aaron D'Silva said: "We got to watch super football from some world class performers.

"The experience can only help inspire our own students to perform well for West Hatch this academic year."
