West Hatch High School's Dance Show saw students take their audiences to the 'Bright Lights of Broadway'.

The dancers performed to three full houses over three nights with more than 100 boys and girls from Year 7 to Year 13 dancing in a range of excellently choreographed routines.

The dance styles which included Jazz, tap, lyrical, street, musical theatre and commercial were as varied as the costumes, all celebrating the hits from popular musicals.

Headteacher Daniel Leonard said: "The talent at West Hatch is immense. All of the performers had worked incredibly hard, giving up a number of lunchtimes and after school time to prepare for the show.

"The standard each year is very high for school trained only dancers."

Year 12 dancer Becky Stimson said: "The Dance show is the highlight of my year. It brings all year groups together as one 'Dance Family' and allows us to showcase the hard work we have put into dance this year."

The show raised money which will be spent on dance workshops with professional practitioners and equipment for the dance department.
