Prospective West Hatch High School students were able to tour the school and see its facilities at its annual Year 7 open evening.

The school opened its doors to current Year 6 pupils and their parents tonight - and showcased what is on offer for children who start at the High Road school next September.

Displays were put on across the various departments.

Talks were given by headteacher Frances Howarth and Year 8 students Aaron Clements and Charlotte Kent.

Mrs Howarth said: "It was a pleasure to welcome so many parents and prospective West Hatch students and to highlight just some of our successes.

"We saw West Hatch at its best with hundreds of students acting as guides and helping with demonstrations and displays.

"Our students feel very proud of their school and were very eager to talk about the opportunities that West Hatch offers."
