West Hatch High School PE teacher Lizzie Edwards is "both nervous and excited" five days before she takes part in her first ever marathon.

She will be pounding the capital's streets as she joins tens of thousands of other runners on Sunday for this year's London Marathon.

Having set herself an initial target of £1,800, she has already been pledged £2,000 for Barnardo's.

She said: "I am feeling both nervous and excited for the race on Sunday especially as it is a first for me and I have never pushed my body this far before"
"I would like to thank anyone who has donated to my Just Giving page so far and to ask those who haven’t to please do so as it is for a great cause."
