Living our Motto: students prove they are ‘The Best That I Can Be

National Recognition for West Hatch Year 11 student named among top chemistry performers in the UK
I am delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 students in this summer’s GCSE examinations. This is my first set of results since becoming Headteacher, and I could not be prouder of what our students have accomplished. They have achieved the highest attainment score of the past three years. Their success is a direct reflection of our school’s values of perseverance, ambition, and the pursuit of excellence.
These results are a testament to the hard work, resilience, and determination of our students, who have risen to every challenge with maturity and focus. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teaching and support staff, whose tireless efforts and expertise have guided and inspired our students throughout their journey. We are also deeply grateful to our parents and carers, whose encouragement and support have been instrumental in helping our students reach their potential. Education is a partnership, and these results reflect the strength of our school community.
Our students have achieved impressive outcomes across a wide range of subjects, reflecting both their dedication and the strength of our teaching. Art, Economics, English Literature, Maths, Media, PE and Spanish stood out with many reaching the highest levels of attainment. Subjects such as Design Technology, Computer Science, and Geography also saw excellent performances, with a significant number of students achieving top grades. The sciences continue to be areas of strength, with students demonstrating deep understanding and commitment across all three disciplines. These results highlight the breadth of talent within our cohort and the high-quality learning experiences provided across the curriculum.
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of Hidayah M, who has been recognised by OCR as one of the top-performing students in the country for GCSE Chemistry. This is a truly remarkable achievement and a moment of great pride for our school community. Hidayah’s exceptional results, seven grade 9s and three grade 8s, firmly establish her as one of our highest-achieving students.
Across the year group, our top 20 students collectively secured an impressive 60 grade 9s, showcasing the strength and dedication of our cohort. Among them, Ellahe S-K excelled with eight grade 9s, one grade 8, two grade 7s, and an A in the Extended Project Qualification.
I look forward to seeing our students continue to thrive as they take their next steps into our Sixth Form and beyond. Congratulations Class of 2025!
