Information for University and College Admissions Teams

COVID 19 Statement

During the COVID-19 lockdown, the school did not provide formal lessons to our Year 12 students until June, this was then a blend of online lessons and independent learning. During this time, students were expected to apply their own initiative and resilience.

Between March and June students only received work via the Show My Homework (SMHW) App this equated to 24 hours per subject.  Students were expected to work on their own without any live lessons.  From June onwards, staff were directed to deliver two hours online lessons each week equating to 14 hours per subject.  The rest of the subject content was reliant on the student to undertake independently with staff available for questions.

A Levels:

All internal assessments through our Pre-Public Exams timetabled for June were not undertaken and all predicated grades were initially made in July; teachers were reliant on students completing and submitting work.  The school has put in place for the week commencing 5 October an informal assessment week where year 13 students are to be assessed in the classroom and not under exam conditions.  This cohort of students will not face any internal exam assessment until January 2021 and then again in March/April 2021.
