The West Hatch High School Year 7 Carol Service took place on Monday at St Paul's Church, Woodford Bridge.

Reverend Ola Franklin welcomed the school for the event's tenth anniversary. Musical items included solo songs by Kayla Bright and Jacques Van Praagh and a full choir version of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

There were special readings given by students.

Head of Music Ms Ebony Martin led the proceedings and Mr Mauro Sheehan accompanied the congregation on the organ.

Headteacher Frances Howarth said: "Very well done to all our Year 7 pupils who took part in our annual carol service. It was a wonderful start to the festive season and allowed us all to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

"We hope everyone has a peaceful and happy time over the break."
