The Year 7 football team at West Hatch High School have made an impressive start to secondary school football this term winning their first two competitive matches.

In the first round of the Essex Cup West Hatch beat Passmores 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Brandon Bryan-Waugh, on his 12th birthday, and a goal from Oliver King.

In their first competitive WESSA league fixture West Hatch overcame King Harold Academy 2-1 with goals from Tate Windsor and a last-minute winner from Jaouo Goncalves.

Team coach Aaron D'Silva said: "Although the team will take encouragement from two wins from two games we have to make sure we improve and become more difficult to play against because teams will get better and harder as competitions go further."
