Year 11 West Hatch High School students Ela Reeves, James Scollan and Lorena Pipenco recently organised a Quiz Night for school staff to raise money for the school's Borneo Expedition 2017.

There were nine rounds of questions and a raffle with a variety of prizes.

The quiz was won by Team LesQuizerbles (made up of Admin/Support staff) who received certificates and chocolates as their prize.

Each of the students took on different organising roles for the evening - Ela was responsible for emailing, nourishments and the prizes, James created the quiz PowerPoint and questions and Lorena helped with decorations, raffle prizes and setting up on the night.

Ela said: "Overall I believe the evening was great fun and a huge achievement as we raised a lot of money. Thank you to all the team members who participated.

"We would also like to thank Mr Towsey, Ms Scott and Ms Smith for their help and input through the weeks of organising."

Meanwhile PE teacher Lizzie Edwards is in training for the London Marathon when she will be running for the charity Barnardo's.

She has set herself a target of £1,800.

She said: "With your help I can do that and together we can help change the lives of so many young children here in the UK.

"By donating, you will be helping the most vulnerable children who may be being abused, forgotten or neglected."
